I am the proud mother of a Beaver Scout and a Cub Scout both of whom have most enthusiastically embraced the concept of working towards achievement badges.

I am always so proud when they come home with a new badge or two or three ... until I remember I'm the mug who has to sew it onto the uniform! RollEyes

I had four to do this morning PLUS a great big commerative one too. (Don't mind reallySmile but it's a bit hard on the hands and fingers)

Any other little scouts out there?

Joanna

PS If anyone's thinking of buying those self-threading needles, don't bother. They are rubbish ... went through a whole pack and not one worked!

Aaww....I remember the days of Rainbows and Brownies, then guides!
There was also swimming, you probably have that too with badges to sew on the towel?
Then there were the name tapes on school uniform, the iron on ones never seemed to stay on long.
It's never ending isn't it?

Oh yes, I do remember the days of cub scouts! Both our boys were in the cubs, and I HATED stitching badges on their jerseys. Wherever possible I got their Gran to do it!! We used to watch them march through Durham - on parade for St. George`s Day. Happy days!!

Yes, I had a brownie and a cub, and I was a guider. I remember parades on Remembrance Sunday, very cold with those thin uniforms on.
